Karen Kano had left Halfa High over six months ago, for personal reasons. She was completely suprised to have been sent to the camp, she looked around the camp grounds as she exited the camp bus. Tall wood trees, cabins, a lake, and woods. "Wow." Karen muttered to herself as she grabbed her bag. "Maybe, this'll be fun." she said smiling looking down at the ground with her dark brown eyes. "It'll keep my mind off of home, so I'm not going to complain." she mumbled looking up again and began to the regustration table. "I honestly don't know why you had to follow me here..." Ricky glared down at his brother with irritated maroon eyes. "But you've been gone from home for so long!" A younger boy stared up at his older brother with admiration shining in his one visible eye (the other was hidden by a mass of jet black hair). "Myles..." Ricky sighed, shaking his head. "You'll only get in the way...and ruin everything..." Karen looked around at the group of people that had arrived. Not yet seeing anyone she knew, she steped a few steps before stopping and looking over at Ricky and Myles. The older one looked upset with the younger one she looked away and walked beside to them. Glancing at them, "Are you excited, about camp?" she asked looking over at them. Ricky raised an eyebrow at Karen, crossing his arms over his chest. "What do you want?" he muttered, looking away. Myles grinned at her, apparently not aware of the fact that Ricky was upset with him. "Hiya! I'm Myles! What's your name?" Karen sent a glared at Ricky. "Well excuse me for comming over here." she said looking down at Myles. "Hey! I'm Karen." she smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you, Myles." she glanced back at Ricky. "You too Clueless one." She looked down at Myles smiling again. "So, Myles, are you excited about camp?" "I'm not clueless..." Ricky muttered, staring down at the ground. "Camp?" Myles blinked up at Karen. "This is a camp? Oh, I was just following Ricky, because I had to find him once he ran away from home, because he told me he got gho--" Ricky firmly clamped a hand over Myles's mouth. "Myles..." he muttered, still not looking up. "Shut up..." Karen stared from Myles to Ricky. "Ran away from home?" she raised a brow at what Myles was saying. "Gho?" she blinked. "What the heck is Gho?" she said herself then looked over at Ricky. "So your name is Ricky?" she asked staring up at him. "Why would you care?" Ricky muttered in a bored tone of voice, staring up at the sky as he uncovered Myles's mouth. "Yeah, I guess that's my name..." He shrugged, glancing at her before looking away. "Nice to meet you, whatever-your-name-is..." Myles beamed at Ricky, looking back at Karen. He leaned up to her, whispering, "Isn't Ricky the coolest?" Karen ignored Myles and glared at Ricky. "Why would I care, that's a stupid question." she said crossing her arms. "And my name is Karen.." she said looking away. "Idiot." "Yup, that's the impression most people get within five minutes of meeting me..." Ricky shrugged, not looking at her. "Idiot... And so what if I'm a jerk?" He lowered his voice, glancing around at the campers arriving. "It's not like any of you are going to be alive when this is over, anyway..." He raised his voice to a normal level. "So why should I care about what you think of me?" Myles blinked. "Not...alive?" he murmured softly, tilting his head to the side. Karen stared at Ricky then looked away. "Well, what If I do care." she said softly looking away. "Idiot.." she turned around putting her back to him then glared back at him. "I think..I figured out what Myles was saying...Gho is close to ghost." she looked back at him. "Are you a ghost?" "N-No." Ricky tried to keep his composure, but he heard himself stammer. "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard..." He glared coldly at her, knowing he was bad at lying. "What the heck would give you that impression? Jeez, you really are stupid..." "You stampered." Karen said ignoring his cold glare. "I'll just leave you alone, Ricky." she looked down glaring at the ground. Why did she even ask that? Was she just curious? She looked back at Ricky in the eyes with her brown ones. "Sorry." Ricky twitched slightly as her eyes met his. "Stupidity isn't a crime, Karen... You don't have to apologize for it..." What am I being such a jerk to her? What IS this? Guilt? What...the heck is wrong with me? She's just like everybody else... Why should I even CARE? Karen looked away then glared back at Ricky hitting him in the arm. "Stop being a jerk to everyone around you." she said glaring at him then looked away, "I'll see you around camp.." she said running off. "Who said I was being a jerk to everyone?" Ricky muttered, glaring at her. "Just you..." He gave a deep sigh, running after her. "Wait, you idiot! What the heck are you running away for!?" Karen noticed he was running after her, so she ran faster. "I feel like it!" she shouted back at him. "It wouldn't take someone smart to figure that out!" "Because...you feel like it..." Ricky rolled his eyes, letting out an aggravated sigh. "Betcha I can catch you..." He smirked, running faster, grabbing her arm when he was close enough. "Gotcha, idiot... Now what the heck was that all about!?" Karen felt someone grab her arm causing her to stop and glare back at him with wet brown eyes. "Let me go, Ricky." she hissed at him as she glared at him. "You didn't have to act like a jerk." she said looking away. "Are you happy, now that you made me tear up?" she said pushing him away. "I said I'll see you around." she said as she began walking off." Ricky sighed, grabbing her arm again before she could walk away. "You're so annoying... Why are you so emotional? Are all girls like this?" Karen glared back at Ricky. "Idiot, I'm a girl. Some girls are more emotional then me." she looked up into his eyes. "Let my arm go." she said looking away. "Why did you even, run after me?" Ricky quickly pulled his hand away from her arm, looking away. "I, uhm... Because..." He glared at her before looking away again. "Because I felt like it! Jeez..." Karen looked back at him with a glare. "You act like a jerk towards me, then chase after me...fruitloop." she muttered looking away. "And why stop me from just walking away, it's not like you care...like you said." "I..." Ricky's voice got soft, but he clenched his fists and glared at her anyway. "Because...you were ticking me off! You're so annoying..." He took a step closer to her. "How can I just shut you up? Any advice?" Karen took a step back. "How about...you leave me alone." she said to him stepping back against a tree. "That's how you can shut me up, you idiot." "No, I'm not ready to leave you alone yet..." Ricky pinned her back against the tree. "You're really aggravating... I don't like when people run away from me... Especially stupid, annoying people like you..." He tilted his head to the side. "I wonder what would make you mad... Hmm..." He smirked, leaning closer to her. "Oh, I know... How about...this?" Still pinning her, he kissed her lips, pushing her harder against the trunk of the tree. Karen's eyes widened and she quickly pushed him away rubbing her lips with wide eyes. She fell to her knees. "You idiot!" she shouted slapping him across the face. "That was my first kiss.." "Good, so it hurts you even more." Ricky grinned, kneeling down in front of her. "That's what happens when someone gets on my nerves... I hurt them..." Smirking, he raised a hand, gently touching her cheek. "And sometimes...it's not always physical pain..." He pulled his hand away, standing up and turning around so his back was to her. "Anyway, you can go now..." He raised a hand to his face, feeling the stinging sensation from when she had slapped him. "Oh, and if you were smart...which is theoretical, of course... But anyway, if you were smart...you wouldn't try that again..." Karen glared up at him then looked away. "You know what..." Karen said standing up lifting up her hand hitting him again. "...That makes me feel better." she said turning around and began walking off. "..Idiot.." "Bad...move..." Ricky hissed softly, shooting ecto-tape at her, binding her legs together. His eyes widened and he took a step back, realizing he had used his ghost powers. At least they had run into the forest, with nobody around, but still... I hope she didn't see that... I didn't mean to... Oh, jeez... Camp hasn't even officially started and I already messed up... Great... Just great... Karen fell to her ground she looked back at her legs. "Ecto-tape?" she asked looking up at him with her dark brown eyes. "You...are half ghost." she said staring at him then looking away. "You...might be a jerk, but I promise I won't tell anyone." "N-No, it's not..." Ricky sighed deeply, kneeling down beside her. "And no, you won't tell anyone...because if you do...I might have to tick you off even more..." He smirked, pulling her into a sitting position, kissing her again. "Like...that." Karen pushed him away, "Stop kissing me..." she said softly undoing the tape. "I might tell someone now." she said glaring at him. "And you can't stop me.." "Yes I can..." Ricky grabbed her arm tightly. "If I have to stay with you every second of the day, that's how far I'll go to make sure nobody finds out about it... And unless you'd like to spend an entire day with a jerk like me...I'd suggest you just keep quiet..." He tightened his grip on her arm, glaring at her. "And if I find out you do tell people about my powers..." He leaned closer, glaring coldy at her. "I won't hesitate to kill you." "I'd like to see you try." Karen said glaring at him as he tightened his grip. "And to think I liked you." she said looking away from him. "You idiot." "You...liked me?" Ricky blinked, pulling his hand away. "How could you like me!? All I've done is been a jerk to you the entire time!" He looked away. "Jeez..." Karen still looked away then stood up. "Yeah, well..." she turned away. "I might tell someone..." she said changing the subject. "I don't believe you, when you say you'll kill me." she said looking foward. "...You don't seem that way." "Heh, really? I've killed dozens of people... Hundreds of people..." Ricky plucked a blade of grass from the ground, staring at it. "I didn't even care... I'd just leave them there..." He snapped the grass in half, watching the pieces flutter back to the ground. "...broken...and dying...only half alive... Watching them suffer, then moving onto the next victim..." He sighed, staring up at the sky. "It would be easy to kill you... You're just another person, taking up space... Everyone dies eventually, anyway..." He glanced down at her. "So why shouldn't I k--" Karen looked from Ricky to kaylin. "You idiot, you're half ghost...you can go intangable and get out of here." she crossed her arms. "I might tell her what you are." "Karen, you'd better not tell her, or I swear I'll--" Ricky cleared his throat, hastily standing up as Kalyn introduced herself. "Oh... I'm...Ri-Ricky... So what do you want? Why are you here?" He cast a sideways glance at Karen, grabbing her wrist. "Uhm...never mind... Excuse us for a second..." He pulled Karen behind a tree, turning them both invisible and intangible when he was sure no one could see them. "Don't say anything about my ghost powers, or I'll kill you right now..." he whispered softly to her, squeezing her wrist tighter. Karen glared at him, "Go ahead.." she whispered to him looking away. "I'm going to tell someone, we all know this." she hissed softly glaring back over at him. "No, you're not..." Ricky hissed, putting a hand over her mouth. "Now let's get out of here, before someone else sees us..." He floated out of the woods, landing on the ground by the lake, turning visible again. "If you try to run, or if you shout, or tell anyone..." He removed a knife from his pocket, pointing it at her. "I will hurt you... I promise." Karen stared at him then looked away turning to the lake. "Whatever you say...Ricky." she said softly keeping her back to him. "..Even if you have a knife, I don't believe a word you're saying.." she said stepping towards him, and kept walking towards him before she was in front of him. She tildly pushed the knife down. "...If you have to kill me, then kill me.." she said leaning up to his lips kissing him passionately. "I'm not lieing...I like you." she stepped away from him lifting up his dagger. "It looks like you'll eather have to follow me or kill me...it's your choice." Ricky blinked, and his mouth fell open as he stared at her with wide eyes. "You..." He shook his head, backing away. "N-No, I can't like girls... I can't like anyone... Don't come near me..." There was a hint of fear in his voice. "I can't...get close to anyone here... I can't..." Karen steped closer to him timidly putting her hands around him. "You jerk..." she whispered softly hugging him. "It hurts you doesn't it...that I'm doing this." she closed her eyes. "Good." she said softly hugging him tightly. "Just stop being so hard headed..." she whispered pulling away and turning around. "I'll leave you alone, bye Ricky." "I don't want you to talk to me ever again..." Ricky whispered softly, backing away from her. "I don't even want you to look at me...ever again..." He shook his head, putting even more distance between them, even though he secretly didn't want her to leave. "You're all going to die... And if I get close to you, it'll just hurt me more... It might even bring out that thing..." He turned away, shaking his head. "A pathetic girl like you...could destroy my entire life. Now...get lost... Go... Leave me alone..." Karen stared at him sadly and looked away. "I get it." she said turning around glancing over her shoulder, staring into his maroon eyes before looking away. "I'm sorry." she said softly as she stoped walking. "I can't leave you alone." she said quietly walking back towards him cornering him against the nearest tree. "Why do you hate me?" Karen asked pushing him against the tree. "How come you keep acting like a jerk around me?" she asked with teary eyes. "Answer me Ricky...why are you like this?" "I'm like this because my life is a wreck, now leave me alone!" Ricky was surprised at how loudly he was shouting at her. "Stop talking to me! Don't spend any more time with me! Leave me alone, before I snap!" He lowered his voice, glaring at her. "Because I will snap... And then it'll kill you...no matter what... Then...I won't be able to stop it..." Karen flinched and didn't move staring up at him with her dark brown eyes. "Let me help you, please." she said squeezing his arm tightly. "I want to help you.." she said steping away. "...If me not talking to you, helps you." she looked away. "Then so be it.." "It's...too late..." Ricky muttered, glaring at her. "Now I don't want you to leave...because..." His voice trailed off as he stopped, wondering what he was saying. His anger came back and he pushed her roughly away. "Stop messing with my head! I don't want to hear you... I don't want to see you..." He closed his eyes as a wave of pain went through his head. "Leave...me...alone..." Karen stared at him taking a step away from him. "Ricky...does this always happen.." she whispered softly staring at him with sad eyes before stepping in front of him putting her arms around him. "I won't let you go." "Yes, it always happens! It's been happening ever since I was eight!" Ricky pushed her away from him again. "Ever since I killed all those people in broad daylight! Ever since I almost killed my own mother!" He held his knife out, pointing towards her. "Don't come near me... It's for your own good... Because if that thing takes control over me again, you'll die..." Karen stared at him and shook her head. "Shut up!" she blurted out staring at him with sad eyes stepping closer to him as he pointed the knife at her. "Stop pushing me away.." she said hugging him again. "Just stop it.." "I warned you..." Ricky hissed, stabbing her in the arm with the knife, making a shallow cut. "You're tearing my mind apart... My loyalties aren't with you... Stop trying to make me change my mind..." He squeezed his eyes shut, trembling slightly as he pulled the knife out. "You're...such an idiot..." His eyes were glowing softly as he opened them, raising his knife. When he spoke, his voice was different; cold and full of hatred. "And I haven't killed someone in about a week... So I was beginning to get bored..." Karen's eyes widened and she pulled away grabbing her shoulder. She looked over her shoulder at the blade that was lifted up at her, she looked back at Ricky. "You're...not Ricky." she said squeezing her eyes shut holding onto the arm that was holding the knife. She pushed it away and steped back. "You...idiot." she whispered staring down at her shoulder. "Of course I'm Ricky..." He smirked, staring at her blood on the knife. "Poor Ricky...he's torn between two sides..." Shrugging, he held the knife up against her neck, watching blood trickle down the blade. "I can't keep you alive... You'd just get in the way..." Karen winced and closed her eyes and then opened them, pushing the blade away. She bent up and kissed him once again on the lips, her hand glowing a calm purple as she touched his chest, causing him to get sleepy. "You're such an idiot.." she muttered sitting down next to him. Ricky's eyes drooped shut as he let out a small groan. "Wh-What...the..." His voice was no longer ice cold as he spoke. "Karen... What...did you...do...?" Karen flinched and looked away. "Nothing- I did nothing." she looked down at at her hand and closed her eyes. "I used my powers in front of him." she thought as she stood up. "Like...I said before, I'll leave you alone." "Y-You...did something..." Ricky muttered softly, losing his train of thought. After a moment, he spoke again, although his voice kept fading away softly. "I'm...telling...everyone... I bet...you're...a witch...or a demon...or a ghost..." His head tilted to the side as he lost consciousness. Karen stepped away from him as he was knocked out. "I have two minutes to get away from him..." she turned away and took a step then stoped looking back at him. "...I'm sorry.." "K-Karen..." Ricky mumbled softly, sitting up. His eyes were difficult to open, and the images kept sliding in and out of focus. "W-Wait..." he mumbled, not knowing whether he was awake or unconscious. He felt dizzy, and he couldn't do anything but blink, trying to sort out the fuzzy, distorted pictures he was seeing. "Wait..." Karen stared over at him. "What...now?" she asked staring at him bending down. "What?" "Did...you do this to me?" Ricky muttered as he began to see double images. He reached out towards Karen's face, missing by a few inches. "Did... Did you...do this to me?" he said again, feeling exhausted. "Did you...knock me out?" Karen shivered staring at him with a frightened eyes. "Ricky...I'm sorry, it was.." she cut her self off looking away. "I'm going now.." "You did it, didn't you!?" Ricky staggered to his feet, attempting to pin her against the tree. Unfortunately, since his vision was blurred and distorted, he missed, causing him to push her to the ground, falling on top of her. "T-Tell me the truth!" he shouted, staring at a spot several inches away from her face, thinking he was looking directly at her. "What did you do!?" He pinned her against the ground, glaring at her. "What happened!?" "You came after me with a knife, and your eyes were- glowing." Karen said looking down as he pinned her. "I-I'm...half ghost." she said looking away. "I had to do something to stop you." she stared at him, with her big brown eyes. "...I'm sorry." "I knew it..." Ricky muttered, even though he knew he was lying. Since he couldn't even see straight, he wanted to at least sound like he knew what he was talking about. "So then... How about we make a deal? You won't tell my secret if I don't tell yours..." Karen blushed not realizing it. "...Okay." she said softly looking away. "Deal now...can you get off me?" "No, you have to promise..." Ricky mumbled softly. He leaned down to kiss her lips, but missed his mark and accidentally kissed her neck. "Uhm... S-Sorry..." he muttered. His vision was slowly coming back into focus, but he still felt dizzy. "Promise..." Karen blushed and shivered closing her eyes. "I promise..." she whispered softly. "...Please get off of me.." "Wait..." Ricky muttered as he began to see even more clearly. He leaned down closer to her, whispering softly, "I missed..." Then he closed the gap, softly kissing her lips. "You're...blushing..." He smirked, pulling away but not getting off of her. Karen stared up at him after he kissed her, he still hadn't gotten off of her. "Ricky..." she whispered staring up at him. "Get-Get off me..." she said blushing a brighter red and looking away. "I know I'm blushing, just- get off of me, please.." Ricky let out a long sigh, getting off of her, standing up. "And you think I'm a jerk... Jeez..." He leaned back against a tree, crossing his arms. "Just don't get used to me being like this... They're just weaker moments..." He turned away from her, stepping to the edge of the lake. "Well, if you wanted to leave so badly, then go." Karen stared at him for another minute before snaping out of it. "Thank you, Ricky..." she said softly stepping behind him hugging him. "What if I want to stay here with you?" she asked softly. "If you weren't a jerk towards me...I'd act like myself." she said steping back. "I can see you'd like to be alone, do you want me to go?" "No..." Ricky said softly. He winced, shaking his head. "I... I mean yes! Leave me alone!" He lowered his voice, looking away. "I can't like you... I can't... Now get lost..." He shivered, knowing he wanted her to stay, but not knowing when his curse would act up again. Karen nodded taking a step back. "Okay..." she whispered back to him tilting her head down closing her fists and turned away. "Bye Ricky." "Wait!" Before he knew what he was doing, Ricky had reached out and grabbed her wrist. "Don't...go..." He pulled her back towards him, looking away. "I don't want you to go." But you have to... I can't spend time with you! Jeez... Then I'll end up doing something crazy like switching sides... And that'll get me killed... Karen looked back at Ricky as he pulled her back towards him. "Ricky." she stared at him sadly. "...Do you like me?" she asked looking away. "I need to know..." she said tilting her head down. "Please...don't act hardheaded, and just answer me- do you like me?" Ricky tilted his head down, remaining silent as no less than five minutes ticked by. The only sounds he could hear were the softly chirping birds and his frantic heartbeat. "I... I...uhm..." He sighed, closing his eyes. "...yes..." He turned away, still not looking at her. "N-Now...go..." Karen blushed and turned away. "Okay.." she whispered keeping her head down. "I'll...see you around- camp Ricky." "Hey, wait a second!" Ricky turned back around, grabbing her shirt sleeve before she could walk away. "Wait... I have a question..." He looked away. "Do you... Do you really like me? Or were you just lying before...to stop me from killing you...?"
